Steve has been in the healthcare field for 33 years, 26 of which have been in consulting with Booz, Allen & Hamilton; Abt Associates; and his own firms—Franey & Associates Consulting, Inc. and Franey, Thompson & Associates, Inc. The range of his work includes strategic planning, business start-up and development, clinical integration, governance & organization structuring, organizational development, operations assessment, quality and performance improvement, compensation system modeling and design, leadership development and training, and financial planning.

During his career, Steve has served as a chief operating officer of a hospital, been a chief executive officer of a large multi-specialty clinic, been a nursing home administrator, as well as worked both nationally and internationally.

Steve is a graduate of Occidental College with Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Chemistry. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago in Hospital Administration and Finance.

Principal Catalyst Strategies

Ann brings over 25 years of strategic facilitation, organizational development and leadership coaching for corporations and nonprofits throughout the Pacific Northwest, with a particular focus on organizations in transition.
A former executive with US Bancorp and NIKE, Inc. Ann has led planning teams to support profitable business developments, facilitate integration and track outcomes of mergers, and create new market relationships. Her clients include large public, private and nonprofit entities, and public-private collaborations. Ann has developed profitable health benefit information service businesses and currently focuses her consulting practice on the community health impact of coordinated care organizations in Oregon.

Ann has an MBA in finance and marketing from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University in New York, and a BA in government form Smith college in Massachusetts. Other professional trainings include certifications in various techniques of strategic planning and group facilitation, leadership and organization assessment tools, executive coaching, public relations and communications, business development, market research, diversity and leadership training.

As a management consultant and senior corporate leader, Alan has over 30 years of broad business services experience. His work has included strategic plan facilitation and development, organization design and implementation, strategic alliances and mergers/acquisitions, business start-up and development, qualtiy and performance improvement, technology assessments and design, as well as financial planning analysis.

Alan has held senior officer positions within insurers, a national Third-Party-Administrator and was CEO of a software company serving employee benefits markets. In addition, Alan has over 15 years of consulting in strategic matters to insurance and healthcare organizations. Alan has also been an adjunct professor in strategic management at Willamette University's Atkinson Graduate School.

Alan received degrees from Northwestern University (B.A.) and Willamette University (M.B.A in Finance). In addition, Alan gained the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation.
